What is a DPP?
Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are used to provide detailed and transparent information about a product’s lifecycle, composition, and sustainability. They serve as a digital record that includes essential data such as safety and quality compliance, materials used, manufacturing processes, recyclability, and environmental impact. By enabling easy access to this information, DPPs help consumers, businesses, and regulatory bodies make more informed decisions about the products they purchase, use, and dispose of.
DPPs also benefit consumers by allowing them to verify the authenticity and quality of a product before purchase. With access to detailed product data, buyers can make more sustainable choices. Also, regulatory agencies can use DPPs to monitor compliance with sustainability laws, and promote responsible consumption. As industries move towards digitalisation and sustainability, DPPs are becoming an essential tool for creating a more transparent and environmentally friendly marketplace.
Introduction
At Huggables Ltd, we make every effort to ensure that we minimise the environmental impact of all of our products, from manufacture, packaging & transportation.
When sourcing products, we focus on the possible environmental impact and strive to use environmentally friendly components, wherever possible.
On average, as an example one of our plush toys produces 0.73kg of CO2 for its entire journey of 28,000 kilometers. This equates to 0.000026kg of CO2 per kilometer, compared to the average car, in the UK, which produces 132kg of CO2, per kilometer.
We use bio degradeable OPP bags on our novelty toys, thus greatly reducing the use of single use plastics. Bio degradeable bags use 65% less energy and produce 63% fewer greenhouse gasses, compared to petroleum based products.
All of our card and cardboard packaging is fully recycleable and, wherever possible, we use recycleable plastics in the maufacture process.
All Huggables products are manufactured and tested to UKCA & CE standard.
Our plush toys are manufactured using 100% recycled & recycleable filling, fully recycleable card labels and recycleable cardboard shipping cartons.
